Outreach
During the first 18 months of the organization’s existence, the LBHN has assembled and distributed hundreds of “Pink Awareness Bags” containing critical information to the newly diagnosed. These contain a lot of important information resources such as lists of local support groups and recovery pamphlets, just to name a few. The bags have been placed throughout Loudoun County at health centers, oncology centers, and doctors’ offices. LBHN members have also taken part in health fairs, and provided talks to local social and civic groups.
The LBHN holds quarterly meetings, open to the general public, that provides updates on fundraising activities and a guest speaker program designed to provide the latest information on cutting edge technology from practicing doctors and research scientists.
Funding
Donations and the money raised at the following functions support outreach programs sponsored by the LBHN:
- The April Walk in Leesburg sponsored by the LBHN.
- The Pink Raffle Auction held at several areas in October that will auction off baskets of products.
Membership
Membership in the LBHN is open to anyone who is interested in awareness, education and support of breast health issues. There is no fee to join the LBHN.
