The best time to check for breast cancer is now, when your breasts feel fine. If you find cancer early, there are more treatment options and a much better chance for survival.
Your donation will help us with programs and information for Loudoun County!
Goals
The goals of the LBHN are threefold:
Provide an education program designed to inform and raise awareness of breast health issues. The initial target audiences are women’s groups with the eventual goal of reaching segments of the population who usually are overlooked and/or underserved. Provide public health speakers free of charge to the general public.
Provide underserved populations with access to diagnostic tools, specifically, mammograms. Long term goal of leasing/owning a mammography van to bring the diagnostic goals closer to the people most in need.
Provide support to the diagnosed. Support ranges from emotional, spiritual, financial and material; including, but is not limited to: a “Guardian Angel” program for the recently diagnosed to assist them through the initial treatment process, wigs, bras, etc. Continue providing and distributing the highly sought after “Pink Awareness Bags” to local breast health facilities. These contain a lot of important information resources such as lists of local support groups and recovery pamphlets, just to name a few.
